Entries and Judging

How are entries/nominations and judging going to work for the Olympics of Wounds Care? If you are an individual, group, association, charity, government group, organisation or company, you can submit your entry/nomination by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit jwcworldunion.com
  2. Go to Categories to view the different awards available
  3. Then, go to Entries and Judging and click Enter Now, which will link you to the email address jwcworldunion@markallengroup.com
  4. Enter the name(s) of the nominee(s) and a short paragraph on the work they have done in the last four years and which deserves recognition. Write the name of the award you are entering in the subject line. Then, press send and… that’s it! Entries/nominations for most categories are open until the 11th August
  5. IMPORTANT: if you are entering/nominating for the Most Innovative Dressing, Most Innovative Product, Most Progressive Society or Lifetime Achievement awards, you will need to follow the instructions under these categories, which can be found within the Entries and Judging tab, and then email your entry/nomination to jwcworldunion@markallengroup.com. The closing date for these categories is the 14 August.

    Short nominations will be accepted. Anyone can nominate by simply sending the name(s) of the nominee(s)’ and a short paragraph on the work they have done, in the last 4 years, which deserves recognition to JWCworldunion@markallengroup.com. We will also be actively seeking nominations from the JWC and WUWHS boards and their sister and collaborating societies.

    Industry Awards

    The JWC WUWHS awards are proud to announce 2 awards aimed at industry and innovation.

    Most Innovative Dressing

    To enter this category, please write a summary of how and why the dressing nominated has changed wound care in the last four years. This must be NO MORE than 500 words and can be accompanied by a maximum of two supporting papers. Email your nominations to JWCworldunion@markallengroup.com. Nominations will be accepted until 14 August.

    Most Innovative Product

    To enter this category, please write a summary of how and why the product nominated has changed wound care in the last four years. This must be NO MORE than 500 words and can be accompanied by a maximum of two supporting papers. Please note the technology must have been published in JWC. Email your nominations to JWCworldunion@markallengroup.com. Nominations will be accepted until 14 August.

    These awards will be judged by an independent panel of JWC WUWHS board members and KOLs.

    Special Categories

    Most Progressive Society

    This award is for the associated society who has made the biggest impact in wound care in the last 4 years. Short nominations will be accepted. To nominate send a short paragraph on the work they have done which deserves recognition to JWCworldunion@markallengroup.com. We will also be actively seeking nominations from the JWC and WUWHS boards and their sister and collaborating societies. Nominations will be accepted until 14 August

    These awards will be judged by an independent panel of JWC and WUWHS board members and KOLs.

    Lifetime Achievement

    This award is for a lifetime’s contribution, passion and commitment to wound care while having a major impact on practice or research in their field. Anyone can nominate by providing 500 words on the nominees’ achievements’ and how this has shaped wound care practice or research. These can be emailed to JWCworldunion@markallengroup.com. Nominations will be accepted until 14 August

    The Rising Star

    In association with the WUWHS new rising star category, three rising stars will be shortlisted and invited to present a 3-minute presentation of their work at the awards. Following voting from the audience the winner will be announced at the end of ceremony.
